Aurora man sets world record on stationary bike

George HoodAn Aurora man has spun himself into the Guinness Book of World Records. George Hood had been on a spin cycle in Burr Ridge since Thursday morning. And Saturday night he broke the old 82-hour record.

The record fell around 8:30PM. He stopped around midnight after completing 85 hours.

In addition to breaking the record, Hood also raised money for an organization that helps the families of police officers killed in the line of duty.

George had to maintain a pace of at least 12 miles an hour and got only a five minute break every hour.

The 49-year-old Aurora resident and Drug Enforcement Administration supervisor began riding a stationary bike at a Burr Ridge sports club on Wednesday morning.
