Water Sculptures

CharybdisThis cool water sculpture called Charybdis is created by William Pye.

In Charybdis the circular movement of water inside a transparent acrylic cylinder forms an air-core vortex in the centre. Steps wrap around the cylinder and allow spectators to view the vortex from above.

Videos and his other works which makes use of the same concept can be found after the jump.

This installation is situated in the grounds of Seaham Hall Hotel, in the region I live. It is fascinating, you become mesmerised whenever you stand next to it.
