Pink and White Katydids In Osaka

Found while an Osaka resident was cutting grass in a field near to their home, they found these beautifully colored insects that seemed to be Katydids.

Local etymologists identify the insects as Euconocephalus thunbergi, a rare breed of insect closely related to the katydid. While green and brown colors are considered normal for these insects, vibrant pink and white are definitely an abnormal find.

Speculation leads scientists to think that the pink is a rare abnormality of the brown colored insects, while the white is a rare albino. The closeness of the two insects is left for coincidence.
