Shanghai's tallest skyscraper

Shanghai HillsMori Building Co. said on Monday that it has decided to name its 492-meter, 101-story building “Shanghai Hills”. This Shanghai’s future landmark is currently under construction in China and due for completion in spring 2008 - just before the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing. The skyscraper will house offices, a hotel, restaurants and shops, whereby the first few floors will accommodate around 50-60 shops and restaurants, whereas the seventh through 77th floors will contain corporate offices. Luxury hotel Park Hyatt will be occupying the 79th through 93rd floors. The world's highest observatory will be set up on the 100th floor at an altitude of 472 meters from the ground, claims the company.

The names of buildings set up through several of the company's landmark projects have the word 'Hills' in them as is the case with Roppongi Hills and Omotesando Hills, both of which were completed recently and are located in popular commercial areas in central Tokyo. Hence the name “Shanghai Hills” was finally selected for the new landmark.
