Many of us take everything in life for granted. We never realize how fortunate we are and keep complaining about everything - looks, money, job, etc. However, many poor people in the world are suffering from strange illnesses and their only wish is to be cured and lead a normal life.A man nicknamed "pine tree" has lumps all over his body for 30 years. 50-year-old Lao Chen painfully tells reporters that when he first discovered a small lump on his body 30 years ago, he did not visit the hospital as it did not affect his daily life and his family was relatively poor. Unexpectedly, more lumps suddenly appeared rapidly in a fashion similar to mushroom growth and till today, lumps are found at almost every spot of his body.
This illness caused Lao Chen much agony as children who saw him either hide away or cry. Very few people are willing to share a table with Lao Chen during meals. He has been to the hospital for a checkup, but 2 nurses were so frightened that they cried - resulting in Lao Chen escaping the hospital hastily.
There's also a farmer with tumors which causes layers upon layers of folds and shifting of facial features! Furthermore, this poor man has to raise the chunk that blocks his nose, eyes and mouth before he can even eat or have a clear view. This 40 year-old farmer Chen Shiping has been faced with such a nightmare for 34 years. At the age of 7, a lump of the size of a thumb first grew on his face. As he had no money for treatment, the lump gradually grew until it becomes what it is today.
These illnesses are rare and only a handful of people suffer from it. Hence, we should be glad that we need not endure the pain and suffering experienced by others.
