The world's largest wheel of cheese was unveiled by Beemster, a Dutch manufacturer of gourment cheeses. The record-setting appetizer was more than 6ft (1.8m) wide and weighed in at 1,323 pounds (600 kg)."It was a challenge to make such a large piece of cheese," said Beemster CEO Eric Hulst. "We used special equipment and we let it age for a year."
According to Hulst, the wheel is not for sale. "I think we are going to cut it up and then have the world's largest fondu," he said. "We'll invite people to the fondu and raise money for charity."
