Google to allow free downloads of books
Through a project known as Gutenberg, volunteers have been scanning public domain books and converting them to text files for many years. This is done so that the files can be used for printing, reading or piping into a programme for editing.
Now, Google has acquired this information and is offering users the flexibility of downloading and printing selected books from Google Book Search which is still under beta. If you are interested in exploring and discovering older works, check it out.
