The Gravity Express.During the 17th century, Robert Hooke showed that if the technology could be developed to bore deep holes through the Earth, a vehicle could make use of these holes to travel from one end of the Earth’s surface to another within a period of just 45 minutes, irregardless of distance. The most amazing aspect of such a transportation system is that it is completely self-sufficient and no additional fuel is necessary.

It would definitely be the next man made wonder if such an incredible feat is achieved. But then again, it do is a very dangerous proposition. After all, who knows what damage one might cause to the planetary body by boring straight thru.
