This is an update.

Fishing.This picture of a bird making a deep dive to catch a fish is just amazing. I wonder if it is a Kingfisher. View a larger picture by clicking on the image.

Update: Other than the Kingfisher, I found other birds that forage for food by swimming underwater too and they are Razorbill, Gannet and Guillemot. Did I miss any here?

That is a truly amazing photo! [yes, I believe it is a kingfisher - look at those wonderful colours!]

How on earth was the photographer in just that place, at just that time... He/she was either extremely patient, or extremely lucky - what a shot!

OK ok.. you are a bit thick really. Of course its a freaking kingfisher. Yes its an awesome picture, its an wawesome bird too. Best appreciated in a kayak or canoe as it darts from tree to tree and branch to branch over the rive. Beautiful.

all you have to do to catch this is to set up a video camera underwater and on top and just take frames from it

there is also a bird called the double crested cormorant that dives down below the water to get fish. Does anyone know where this photo was taken? and who took it?
