Doesn’t this moth in the picture resemble the F-117 stealth fighter jet? The body of the moth consists of the colours grey, black, olive green and brown while the wing is approximately 6 centimeters wide when it opens. This moth called Deilephila Hypotnous (Cramer) can usually be found in the low lying mountainous region in China, Taiwan, India and Burma. They feed on tree leafs and when present in large numbers, will make significant damage to leafs of trees in the area where they reside. Click on the image for a larger view.
