Christmas tree made from discarded umbrellas

This 8 meter tall Christmas tree is made from the frames of 500 discarded umbrellas. It is currently on display at the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium gate in China. The aim of making this tree is to increase the awareness of the locals towards protecting their environment and avoiding unnecessary waste. Click on the image for a larger view.
