Lizel's Waterproof LCDs Can Be Submerged in one Meter Deep of Water

LCD TViizel has introduced some fancy LCD TVs that are capable of some pretty amazing feats. Their line of LCDs, ranging from 26 inches to 55 inches, are capable of working while submerged in one meter of water. Prices for the 26-incher begin at $2,300. But how useful would a waterproof LCD be?

I was at a trade show recently and SHARP were showing their version of this - I was impressed, but like you say why!!

I wonder who started all these? Many of us never heard of underwater screens, laptops (e.g. NEC) until recently.
