Chinese creates mini-pig clone for medical use

Mini Pig
Six mini pigs were jointly cloned by China Agricultural University, Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences and two companies. Out of these six pigs, only two Gottingen male pigs clones have survived for at least 9 days in a Tianjin pig farm. These male pigs whose birth weights were 0.55 kg and 0.6 kg currently weigh 1.9 kg and 2.3 kg respectively, and both pigs are in a healthy condition.

Gottingen mini pigs are regarded as the best breed for carrying out medical experiments related to organ transplants due to their organs having great similarities to human organs, such as their size, structure and functionalities.
