Crash frees hundreds of geese

GeeseThese poor firefighters have to work "part time" as goose herders. What's new?
Firefighters in a Hungarian city were drafted as goose herders Thursday after a truck loaded with birds was involved in a crash.

The truck was carrying 784 geese, Attila Toro, a spokesman for the disaster management agency in Debrecen, told the news agency MTI. Fifty were killed in the crash, leaving more than 700 on the loose.

Firefighters conducted a goose roundup. An ambulance depot's courtyard was converted to a temporary pen.
