A French artist has transformed New York's Rockefeller Center by projecting 250 portrait photographs onto the facade of its main art deco building in a massive public art project.
Photographer Agnes Winter's "Monument to Smile" features photographs of New Yorkers of all ages grinning across 50 floors of the landmark 30 Rockefeller Plaza, a 1930s tower that dominates the midtown Manhattan center.
The photographs are beamed from 12 projectors set up in a department store across the other side of Fifth Avenue from the Rockefeller Center, a complex of several commercial buildings set among a large, open public space.
Two more pictures after the jump.
