If this shoplifting seagull is not careful, he might end up doing a bit of bird for his crimes. The sneaky seagull has ruffled a few feathers by helping himself to his favourite snack – spicy Doritos – while shopkeepers are busy.
And the gull, called Sam, has got his crime down to a fine art.
Every day he lies in wait until staff open the door for a breath of fresh air, then pounces and makes off with his ill-gotten gains.
The 'opportunistic' thief has plenty of partners in crime who help him rip the bag open and devour the 55p snack, which is the only food he steals.
Sriaram Nagarajan, 22, who works at the RS McColl shop in Aberdeen, said: 'He's becoming a bit of a celebrity. At first I didn't believe a seagull was capable of stealing crisps.
'But I saw it with my own eyes and I was so surprised.
He's very good at it.' An RSPB spokesman: 'Perhaps it tried some crisps in a shiny packet in the street and was just opportunistic one day at the shop.'
