A Briton is the official king of coffee after beating off 44 hopefuls from six nations to win the World Barista Championships in Tokyo.James Hoffman put his competitors in trouble when he produced his winning signature beverage - an espresso with biscotti foam, milk chocolate and tobacco infused cream.
Mr Hoffman is now an official Barista - an Italian term which loosely means someone who excels in coffee making.
He ground his way through a three day event where he had to make an espresso, cappuccino and that infamous signature cup.
Taste, aroma and presentation were all key factors judged with expert precision by four judges. Mr Hoffman is planning on opening a coffee shop in the city later this year.
