Jammu Cobbler Aims To Make It Big With Tiny Shoes

Ram Kumar and his mini shoesThis Indian cobbler is making tiny shoes fit for elves and like the fairy tale, he's hoping for a happy ending.

Ram Kumar, who works at a shoe factory in the northern town of Jammu, spends his weekends making miniature shoes, half-an-inch (1.3 cm) long, in an attempt to get into the Guinness World Book of Records or the Indian equivalent.

Ram has so far crafted 12 miniature shoes in several colours and styles ranging from strappy sandals to loafers. A single pair can take him between one and three months to make.

And in case his tiny shoes don't get him into to the record books, Ram's got a back up plan: he is currently trying to drum up funds to buy enough leather to create the largest sandal in India.
