Every year, various news agencies and blogs try to make their own Halloween fashion statements. Sure, 2007 may be the year of cosplay, because of it's rising global popularity, or the maybe the "year of pirates", because Dep's drunken Jack Sparrow was yet-another box office hit.

There's no doubt that in in the past, popularized sexy adult costumes were hotter than ever. Paris Hilton was iconic in her sexy bunny outfit in 2005, and in 2006 flocks of sexy devils could be seen wandering the streets of big cities.

But this year, I'd like to make a prediction that you're going to seeing something different. 2007 will be the year of home made, creative, and tailor-made custom costumes. Humorous and interesting are in. Like the martini costume I saw, which consisted entirely of a plastic Elizabethan collar, and some olive green face paint. Brilliant.

In 2007 the global media saturated citizenry will be fed up with store-bought costume clones, and will, instead, be using Halloween as a vehicle for self-expression.
