Heart Attack Victim Brought Back To Life 12 Times

Keith Rosser and the ambulance crewA man has thanked an ambulance crew who brought him back from the brink of death 12 times. Keith Rosser, from south Wales, survived a massive heart attack after he was given electric shock treatment 12 times and a clot-busting injection.

The 58-year-old director of a building maintenance firm was with his wife Susan on a caravan holiday in west Wales, when he fell ill with chest pains on September 1. Mrs Rosser dialed 999 and within eight minutes paramedic Gareth Jones and technician Roger Hubbard arrived.

Mr Jones said: "I charged up the defibrillator and we shocked him and his pulse came back but it was only moments later that it went again... he kept suffering cardiac arrests - it happened about 10 times followed by a pulse."

Even after a thrombolysing clot-busting injection, Mr Rosser's heart arrested twice more with Mr Jones and Mr Hubbard shocking him again before he was stable enough to be carried into the ambulance.

Mr Rosser was flown by air ambulance to Morriston Hospital in Swansea and is now recovering from his ordeal at home.
