This little sea urchin on top named Coelopleurus exquisitus is quite unusual. It was discovered by a research vessel near New Caledonia at a depth of 1000 ft (304.8 meters). This sea urchins have unusually bright colours for a creature found at water depths of 240m to 520m where little light gets down to the seabed. Dr Coppard said that they may have migrated from shallower waters.
