A mother cremated a man she believed to be her missing son - only to be told the next day that he was alive.
Gina Partington even identified the body and confirmed it was her son, Thomas Dennison, after police found a dead man in Rusholme.
She also held the dead man's hands and spent a tearful 40 minutes saying goodbye. But just 24 hours after the body was cremated, Gina, from Urmston, was told by police officers that her missing son had turned up in Nottingham.
An investigation has been launched into the extraordinary case.
