A legal loophole left a South Gloucestershire family with an unwanted guest after he gave their address to a court and was given a curfew.Shane Sims, 19, had been staying with Glenda Cole and her family and gave his temporary address as the Coles.
Mrs Cole said everything had been done without her knowledge and the courts had not asked her permission.
Police said there was nothing they could do and Mr Sims must stay at that address until his tag was removed.
Mrs Cole added: "I was on the verge of being thrown out by my housing association as I was going against my tenancy rules. "I was very upset."
