Baby Shares Birthday, Minute with Sister

John Wargo and familyWhen Claire Wargo came into the world at 8:33 a.m. Friday, her birth beat all odds.

That’s because Claire’s big sister, Natalie, was born one year earlier — on exactly the same day, at precisely the same minute.

While both girls were delivered by Caesarean section, their parents and officials at Sisters Hospital stressed that the timing of their births was anything but planned. A procedure on the morning of Dec. 28 was scheduled to coincide with the hospital’s busy schedule.

When it became evident in the delivery room that the Wargo sisters would share a special birthday moment, father John Wargo said people were dumbstruck.

“Everyone was looking at the clock, and they just kind of said ‘Wow, this is a first,’ ” the Akron man recalled Saturday as he stood by his wife’s hospital bed.

“I think the chances are better at winning the lottery,” the proud father added.
