Bullet Narrowly Misses Sleeping Child

A bullet from a gun fired on New Year's Eve came through the ceiling of a Beaverton home and narrowly missed a sleeping boy on New Year's Eve, according to police.

Beaverton police said the boy had been sleeping on the floor because he and two other children were having a slumber party in the bedroom.

Police responded to the home in the early-morning hours of New Year's Day and found a 2-inch by 2-inch hole of broken sheetrock in the ceiling of an upstairs bedroom.

Officers said they believe the bullet came from a New Year's Eve party, but they weren't sure where that party was held or who fired the shot. The boy wasn't injured.
